Goodwill of Southern Nevada Expands with New Store Opening

On April 11, Goodwill of Southern Nevada proudly inaugurated its 18th retail thrift store located at 755 W. Craig Rd. in North Las Vegas. This significant launch not only enhances the shopping options available to the local community but also supports essential workforce development programs.

Grand Opening Festivities

The grand opening event commenced with a ceremonial ribbon-cutting at 8:45 a.m., followed by welcoming shoppers at 9:00 a.m. The first 200 customers were treated to a complimentary $5 Goodwill gift card and an eco-friendly reusable shopping bag, celebrating Goodwill’s 50th anniversary.

Convenience and Community Impact

Goodwill’s President and CEO, Rick Neal, emphasized that the establishment of this second retail store in North Las Vegas is a response to growing community needs. “This new location provides a convenient service for the north-central Las Vegas Valley,” Neal stated. “As our social enterprise expands, donors and shoppers will continue to fuel Goodwill workforce development programs that offer careers as medical professionals, stagehands, truck drivers, welders, and other skilled trades.”

Supporting Employment Through Donations

Proceeds from the sale of gently used items directly support Goodwill’s career services and train-to-hire initiatives. A dedicated team of ten career coaches operates from two store-based career centers and the Goodwill Training Academy, providing tailored guidance to job seekers and military veterans. These resources include access to training programs, skills workshops, and supportive services aimed at fostering meaningful employment.

Store Operations and Donation Guidelines

The Goodwill Craig Road Store is open for business Monday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Sundays from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Donations are accepted at all Goodwill locations and at three attended donation centers, ensuring community members can easily contribute to supporting these vital services.
