Goodwill of Southern Nevada Marks 50th Anniversary with Charitable Initiative
Goodwill of Southern Nevada, in observance of its yearlong 50th anniversary, is launching a fundraising campaign throughout April. This initiative aims to raise between $5,000 and $10,000 for Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada (CCSN), an organization committed to delivering essential services like food and shelter to individuals in need.
Fundraising Efforts
This campaign is part of the Goodwill Care-to-Care Nonprofit Fundraising Partnerships program. It encourages Goodwill shoppers to contribute at least $1 during checkout, which will benefit both Goodwill’s vocational training scholarships and a designated local nonprofit organization each month.
Statements from Leadership
Rick Neal, President and CEO of Goodwill of Southern Nevada, expressed pride in the organization’s role in offering diverse services to those facing employment challenges. He stated, “Goodwill is proud to offer a wide range of no-cost services for people facing barriers to employment. Through our partnership with Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada, our customers will extend their generosity to those facing similarly daunting challenges.”
Echoing similar sentiments, Sara Ramirez, President and CEO of CCSN, remarked, “Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada offers help and hope with dignity as we strive to meet the diverse needs of men, women, and children in Southern Nevada. Funds raised at Goodwill stores will help us provide services to no- and low-income individuals and families, as well as those experiencing or at risk of homelessness.”
How to Participate
Shoppers visiting Goodwill thrift stores have the opportunity to support both Goodwill and CCSN by contributing a minimum of $1 during their purchase. This initiative not only bolsters community support but also enhances services aimed at uplifting residents facing significant hardships.
Conclusion
This April fundraising campaign exemplifies Goodwill’s commitment to collaboration with local nonprofits to enhance the well-being of Southern Nevada. With the support of the community, the initiative aims to provide critical resources to those who need it most.
